The library has many electronic resources and recommendations to enhance learning or provide entertainment.

All Nebraskans are provided free access to several databases, such as NOVELIST (find your next great read) for adults and children, or HERITAGE PLUS (for genealogy research or to look at historical documents). Click on Library Catalog, then log in with your library card number and phone number to access these resources.

In addition, the Geneva library offers a full text, searchable newspaper database with all FILLMORE COUNTY NEWSPAPERS published between 1872 and 2017. Click on Digital Newspaper Archive to explore this resource.

Access thousands of free audiobooks and ebooks for all ages with most any electronic device. Download the free OVERDRIVE or LIBBY app from your device's the app store. Go to the OVERDRIVE "getting started" webpage or the LIBBY "getting started" webpage for help, or call library staff and we can walk you through set up and get you started on your first book.

World Book resources available
World Book is offering many of their online products free until April 30, 2020. This includes fifteen different modules, which include Timelines, Activity Corner, Early Learning, eBooks, Encyclopedia, Science Power, and Dramatic Learning. Their resources are designed for all ages. Set up your own World Book Online credentials to access these resources by clicking in the large red box.
Barnes & Noble
Barnes & Noble is offering a Virtual Storytime with related activity sheets to download and print. The story schedule and downloadable activities are available on the Barnes & Noble website.

Dav Pilkey, the author and illustrator of the "Captain Underpants" and "Dog Man" series of children's books, has teamed up with the Library of Congress. Each Friday, Pilkey will release a new video featuring mini drawing lessons, reading from his books, or telling other stories.

Goodnight with Dolly
Launched April 2, 2020, Dolly Parton's Imagination Library is presenting a new weekly read-aloud video series called "Goodnight with Dolly". According to the ImaginationLibrary website, "This 10-week series will focus on comforting and reassuring children during the shelter-in-place mandates. Dolly hopes these videos will provide a welcomed distraction during a time of unrest and also inspire a love of reading and books in the hearts of the children who see them."
In addition to "The Little Engine That Could", other titles will include “There’s a Hole in the Log on the Bottom of the Lake” by Loren Long, “Llama Llama Red Pajama” by Anna Dewdney, “I Am a Rainbow” by Dolly Parton, “Pass It On” by Sophy Henn, “Stand Tall Molly Lou Mellon” by Patty Lovell, “Violet the Pilot” by Steve Breen, “Max & The Tag-Along Moon” by Floyd Cooper, “Last Stop on Market Street” by Matt de la Peña and “Coat of Many Colors” by Dolly Parton.

Scholastic Learn At Home
Scholastic has developed an amazing home-education resource. Go to Scholastic Learn at Home and click on a grade level set. There are cool lessons, videos, quizzes, games, and more for PreK through Grades 9, updated weekly. Watch a video from the Jelly Belly Factory, learn about Star Wars filming locations, test your knowledge of animal skeletons, and find out why horses should wear black and white striped coats. All free, no logins, and no purchases necessary.
Wilbooks and author Bruce Larkin offers several free resources, for teachers and parents of kids PreK-Grade 3. This includes printable coloring pages, printable word searches, videos of books read aloud, and free ebooks for young children. Go to Wilbooks Free Resources. No purchasing required, no logins, and no need to set up an account.

Tumblebooks is offering free access to five resources to library patrons through August 31, 2020. Please note the username and passwords below.
The Tumble Book Library is a K-6 grade children's ebook database. Find nonfiction books, graphic novels, videos, picture books, chapter books, books in other languages, and games. Find many titles by Kate DiCamillo, John Lithgow, and Robert Munch; and old classics like "Anne of Green Gables" to new favorites like "Goodnight Construction Site". No apps to download, just access directly from their website.

Storytime from Space
Story Time From Space featuring astronauts reading stories from the International Space Station. There are several stories, from picture books such as "Rosie Revere, Engineer" by Andrea Beaty, to chapter books such as "Ada Lace Take Me To Your Leader" by Emily Calandrelli. There are also a few science-related videos on the site you don't want to miss.

Who doesn't love Mo Willems? The author of Elephant and Piggie and that troublesome Pigeon, is encouraging families to grab their markers and crayons and join Mo for "Lunch Doodles" each weekday at 12:00 p.m. CST. All episodes are available at The Kennedy Center website or on their YouTube channel.

Storyline Online features "imaginatively produced videos featuring celebrated actors including Viola Davis, Allison Janney, Chris Pine, Wanda Sykes, Justin Theroux, and Betty White reading children’s books alongside creatively produced illustrations, helping to inspire a love of reading in children.

Junior Library Guild
Junior Library Guild is offer FREE access to their JLG Digital online reading platform! JLG Digital gives you unlimited access, until June 1, to read books online from any device. There is no limit to the number of users who can access the books, click to your heart's content! Titles enter and exit the digital stream regularly, so there are always new picks available. Go to JLG@Home and then click the school-level book stream of your choice. You'll be automatically logged in.
