Street Maintenance

Under ordinance, the City Council is responsible for the care, supervision, and control of all public highways, bridges, streets, alleys, public squares, and commons within the municipality.

City staff keeps the streets and alleys clean, open, and free from nuisances. This includes, but not limited to snow removal, street sweeping, repairing pot holes, grading roads, supervising armor coating and crack filing of the streets, painting parking lines, and replacing signs. The street maintenance department sweeps all streets at least once a year.
