Youth ages 0-19 are encouraged to register at the library and pick up a reading log to track their reading minutes between May 23 and July 27. Bring your reading log into the library OFTEN to report your minutes and pick reading prizes.
Young, or novice, readers are encouraged to read at least 15 MINUTES EACH DAY, and can select a prize from the Treasure Room for every 250 minutes they read. After 1,000 minutes, young readers also get entries into the grand prize drawings to win one of these prizes:

Join library and Fillmore County Extension staff for read aloud storytime with activities, games, and crafts each week.
Storytime aimed at toddlers, preschoolers, and Kindergarten-aged youth is EACH MONDAY from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. throughout June and July.
Storytime aimed at older youth is EACH WEDNESDAY from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. throughout June and July.
Anyone over age 19 can read their way to winning one of three prizes. By simply reporting to library staff each book you complete between May 23 and July 27, you earn one entry into the drawing of your choice. One entry per book. Audiobooks count too!
Schedule a time to learn how to use the laser cutter! This is free and open to all ages. Children under age 10 should have an adult accompany them.
One Friday, July 29, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., all summer reading participants and their families are invited to the Secret Garden of the library for a hot dog picnic. Summer reading drawings will take place at this time! Please RSVP for these event with your summer reading registration.
