Borrowing Library Materials
Library Cards
Geneva Public Library issues library cards free of charge to all who reside within the Geneva city limits, and/or within the Chelsea, Geneva, Madison, or Stanton townships in Fillmore County. Library cards expire one year after they are granted, and each year subsequently; and may be renewed if the patron is in good standing with a check of their contact information.
Those who reside outside of Geneva city limits or in townships not mentioned above may obtain a library card for an annual fee of $20.
If you participate in the NebrasKard program through your home library, you may obtain a Geneva Public Library card free of charge.
Please bring the following to the library when applying for a library card:

- Current photo identification.
- Proof of current mailing address.
Guidelines for Borrowing Materials
- There is a checkout limit of 50 print materials and audiobooks per library card (one renewal).
- There is a checkout limit of 10 Blu-ray, DVD, and VHS movies, and music cd's, per library card (one renewal).
- Print materials and audiobooks check out for a two week loan period.
- Movies and music check out for a one day loan period.
- Overdue print materials and audiobooks are charged $0.10 per day.
- Overdue movies and music are charged $1.00 per day.
- Print materials and audiobooks check out for a two week loan period.
- Movies and music check out for a one day loan period.
- All materials may be renewed in person, by calling the library during open hours at (402) 759-3416, or by logging into your account in the catalog at any time.
