Fillmore Co. Extension: Plant Science Investigation workshop

If you love learning about plants, getting dirty and trying freshly raised foods, this is for you! Extension office is trying a different gardening technique this year - The Milpa System! The Milpa system is a traditional inter-cropping system used throughout Mesoamerica that was originally designed by the Mayans. Traditionally, Milpa gardens still use the "three sister" concept with Maize, squash, and beans, but they also add much more species for diversity into the system! If you sign up to help with the garden, they can take the produce to the fair! To sign up for times to care for the garden, call extension staff. Space is limited, open to both 4-H and non 4-H youth ages 8-18
